Facts & Figures on SCHOTT Solar

SCHOTT Solar looks back on more than 50 years of experience in the field of solar technology. The company’s business activities are divided into two areas: Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Photovoltaics (PV).

In the CSP division, SCHOTT Solar develops, manufactures and markets highly efficient receivers, one of the key components for solar power plants that utilize parabolic trough technology. The company considers itself to be both the market and the technology leader in this field. In order to be able to continue to benefit from the high growth that can be expected from the solar thermal power generation market and secure its current market position, the company also has plans to expand its activities in the area of CSP at the international level.

In the PV division, SCHOTT Solar develops, manufactures and markets innovative, high-quality photovoltaic products. By offering wafers, solar cells and crystalline photovoltaic modules, in addition to a-Si thin-film modules, SCHOTT Solar supplies all of the key components in the photovoltaic power generation value-added chain. Based on its long years of experience in research and development, SCHOTT Solar ranks as one of the leading integrated suppliers of high-quality photovoltaic products. Here, too, SCHOTT Solar is hoping to participate in the expected market growth in this sector and therefore plans to expand its production capacities at the company’s sites in the European Union and the U.S.

SCHOTT Solar is convinced that reliable and secure access to raw materials and components and its strong backlog of orders, in addition to the expansion of capacities planned in both business divisions, form the basis for the company’s future growth. Furthermore, SCHOTT Solar considers its high technological expertise to be a major factor in its success. This, in turn, will be strengthened and expanded even further through ongoing comprehensive research and development activities.

With production sites all over the world, many years of advanced manufacturing expertise and experience in combination with an international sales network and experienced, highly qualified employees, SCHOTT Solar feels it is extremely well positioned in the market.
