Dr. Martin Heming (born 1956) studied Chemistry at the University of Münster, where he completed his PhD in 1983. From 1983 until 1988, Dr. Martin Heming worked as a post doctoral fellow at the University of Houston (Texas, USA) and at the University o Zurich (Switzerland). From 1988 to 1995, Dr. Martin Heming worked in Research and Development at the SCHOTT AG Group. In 1996 he took over the commercial management of the Optics business segment. In 1998 he was appointed Chairman of the Board/CEO of SCHOTT Lithotec AG. From February to September 2006, Dr. Martin Heming served also as the Executive Vice President of the Advanced Materials business unit. From October 2006 to September 2008, he headed the “solar“ business unit at SCHOTT AG and in this position he als served as the Managing Director of SCHOTT Solar GmbH. In 2007, he also became Chief Representative of SCHOTT AG and a member of its Corporate Management Committee. He has been a member of the Company’s Management Board and has been the Management Board’s Chairman since its reorganization as a stock corporation. His responsibilities include strategy & business development, research & development, public relations, human resources and audit.
