Mainz,
April 16, 2010 – The members of the European Photovoltaic Industry Association
EPIA have reelected SCHOTT Solar Board member Michael Harre to their executive
committee. At the Annual General Meeting held in Rome, he received an
outstanding 109 votes to continue serving on the Board of Directors and will
remain in office until 2012. The EPIA Board is responsible for representing the
solar industry at the political level and continuing to promote the development
of this market through joint activities. With over 200 members from the entire
PV industry, EPIA ranks as the world’s largest photovoltaic industry association
and represents about 95 percent of the European photovoltaic industry. The
organization has its headquarters in Brussels.
“The last two years have been very exciting and eventful. I
am looking forward to continuing to put my knowledge and expertise to use at
EPIA and helping to promote the PV sector during the difficult phase we are
currently experiencing,” Michael Harre said upon being reelected to the EPIA
Board.
Michael Harre was first elected to the Board of Directors of
EPIA in 2008. He has been actively involved in the photovoltaic market since
2000, when he took on a management position at SCHOTT AG. In 2002, Harre was
named a member of management of what used to be the solar business unit. Today,
he is responsible for the areas of marketing and sales as a Board member of
SCHOTT Solar AG. He has been leveraging his professional experience as a member
of the EPIA Board for the past two years.
