SCHOTT Solar and UmweltBank make financing of solar systems even easier

·        Financing of solar systems much easier

·        Consulting now available online

·        Umweltbank accepts SCHOTT Solar systems as collateral

·        Financing even with less money down

Nuremberg/Mainz, May 19, 2009 – The solar company SCHOTT Solar AG has been cooperating closely with the UmweltBank AG on financing solar installations since 2004. The initiative that was first introduced in January of 2009 has been on the Internet in the form of an online consulting tool since April. This service partnership makes financing of solar systems a lot faster and easier for customers.

The UmweltBank AG and SCHOTT Solar have been working together already for five years. The goal of the extended partnership is to make it even easier for customers to obtain financing for photovoltaic systems. The UmweltBank now accepts the photovoltaic system on the roof as collateral for the loan. It is no longer necessary to create a charge on land in front of a notary public either. As a result, solar power systems can now be financed with a greater sense of security, even if not a lot of money is available for a down payment.

The customer receives an overview of the financing possibilities for his SCHOTT Solar system over the Internet and can then request a financing offer. Those interested can obtain more information under www.schottsolar.com under www.umweltbank.de/schottsolar/.

“We have a great deal of confidence in the performance and the quality of the modules from SCHOTT Solar and this really pays off for the credit user, due to the

low rates that we are able to offer on SCHOTT systems,” emphasizes André Hückstädt, department head of solar financing for UmweltBank AG. “The interest rates for investing in a solar system have never been lower than they are today. Now, we are offering our partners and customers an additional service that makes financing even easier. Operators can secure themselves sustainable high yields as a result,” adds Michael Harre, Chief Sales Officer for SCHOTT Solar AG.
