Alzenau, 24 April, 2008 – At
the world’s largest solar tradeshow Intersolar (June 12 to 14) SCHOTT Solar
will present new modules, which are able to get even more power out of the
sun’s rays thanks to advanced technology – and that continuously and
guaranteed for at least 20 years. With the newly designed, larger tradeshow
presentation in Hall C3/Booth 210, the company also acknowledges the growing
importance of Intersolar, which will be held at the trade fair center in Munich
for the first time this year.
SCHOTT POLY 300 and SCHOTT POLY 220: New
crystalline modules deliver the most energy
Thanks to the new type of texture used on the cell
surface, the new SCHOTT POLY 300 and SCHOTT POLY 220 multi-crystalline modules
with six-inch cells have moved into a higher performance category: with an
improved anti-reflection coating and the so-called ISO texture, the cells can convert
more energy from the sun to attain a greater performance density. The new
surface structure not only provides for enhanced efficiency, but for a uniform,
dark-blue appearance as well.
In addition to the usual types of installations, the
SCHOTT POLY 300 double-glass module with its generous dimensions of 131 x 168
centimeters and resulting stability is particularly well suited for large
installations in farming. The SCHOTT POLY 300 has been equipped with better
protection against ammoniac and methane gases, as they frequently found on
farms. This has been proven by special tests.
In the dimensions of 99 x 168 centimeters, the
advantages of the SCHOTT POLY 220 glass-film module come into play perfectly in
mid-sized and large installations. Its low weight per unit area in combination
with the high performance density makes the SCHOTT POLY 220 the ideal solar
module for all standard applications.
SCHOTT EFG 165: The proven standard now available
as elegant EFG variant
Starting immediately, the tried-and-tested SCHOTT POLY
165 standard module is also available as an elegant EFG variant and
particularly good value for the money: the wafers for the new SCHOTT EFG 165
are manufactured in the WACKER SCHOTT Solar joint venture using the
resource-saving EFG process, whereby the extremely thin wafers are pulled
directly out of the silicon mass, making the energy return time of these
modules particularly advantageous. A pleasant side effect is the appealing
looks that result: the corrugated growth structure gives the SCHOTT EFG 165 a
very elegant appearance. The glass-film module is quick and easy to mount and
ideally suited for small to mid-sized installations.
SCHOTT ASI 95: Power from thin films
As another module from the new, ultra-modern thin-film
production facilities in Jena, SCHOTT Solar put the SCHOTT ASI 95 on the market
as planned in March 2008. This module reflects the development competence of
the company; SCHOTT Solar was able to increase the efficiency of this thin-film
module yet again. Due to its good light scattering behavior and the integrated
wiring, the SCHOTT ASI 95 is perfect for roofs that don’t face due south or are
extremely steep.

Thanks to their sturdy structure, the use of
high-quality, specially tested materials and the solid profile frame, all the
SCHOTT Solar modules are consistently reliable, whatever the weather may have
to offer.
