Order for SCHOTT Solar from Japan: FUJIPREAM orders solar cells for 17.5 megawatt (MW) nominal power

 

Alzenau, Tokyo 29 May 2008 – SCHOTT Solar got an important order from one of Asia’s photovoltaic key markets: The Japanese FUJIPREAM Corporation will use in the future high quality products from the SmartSolarFab® of the German manufacturer. The contract includes that SCHOTT Solar will deliver to the “Clean Eco Energy” business unit of this growing electronic company from the third quarter of this year until the year 2011 multi-crystalline 6-inch solar cells. The total volume will be 17.5 megawatt nominal power. In addition the option for doubling the quantities has been included.

 

The business unit „Clean Eco Energy“ of FUJIPREAM manufactures and sells solar modules, which are mainly used for big buildings, complete systems for generating solar power, solar-powered emergency and diode lights, as well as insulating glass. The long-term agreement with SCHOTT Solar ensures for the company stable material supply, which is a prerequisite for the expansion plans: For the module production FUJIPREAM can plan in the next for years with reliable deliveries of solar cells, which fulfill high quality requirements.
